The fourth NAV routine evaluation for this year took place as scheduled. The NAV Bull Search has been updated with the new EBV’s and GEBV’s. In this evaluation many improvements were introduced for different traits. Read more:
Evaluations
NAV Bull Search improved with new phenotypic values
The function on NAV Bull Search that includes phenotypic values (breed averages and bull’s effect) has been extended with more traits. This time it is yield and udder health traits that have been added. These values can be useful in interpretation of what a bull’s breeding values means in practice since they show the effect of the bull expressed in the same scale as the trait is measured for example kilograms of milk.
NAV Genomic evaluation
The latest NAV routine genomic evaluation took place as scheduled. NAV carried out genomic prediction for Holstein, RDC and Jersey.
Genomic breeding values of bulls are updated to NAV Bull Search after each evaluation.
